Neurobiology Scientist

Jeanne is a graduate student at SDSU and a Research Associate at the Boz Life Science Research and Teaching Institute studying the effects of GenX, a PFOA/PFAS replacement, on Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies). She is interested in assessing motor impairment and survival, and gene expression differences between female and male fruit flies as they are exposed to higher doses or GenX. Previously, she has worked on a project studying the diversity of Shaw’s Agave in collaboration with National Park Services and is also currently working on valorizing the Irish Strawberry (Arbutus unedo) fruit.
